Not sure where to go to get your awesome cub scout uniform?

We are very fortunate to have a Boy Scout supply store nearby in Pleasant Hill. CA which sells scout uniforms and other scouting materials.

Here is the address and phone to the store:

Annual club dues are only $100 per scout for the whole year.  All members pay dues at the start of each school year. We do have Square so there is a possibility the Treasurer may allow you to use your credit card to pay your dues. Let's see what he announces at the next Pack Meeting.

Bike Rodeo at Woodside Elementary

The start of the Turtle Race, on your marks, get set, and... GO!
Our local Police Department sent out two officers from Concord PD to Woodside Elementary on Thursday 9/10/2015 to teach the scouts about bicycle safety.  We also had planned for scouts to have a little fun with it, so there was an obstacle course and bike skill challenges for the kids to try.

So much to learn and do! Bikes and helmets were inspected at the Bike Inspection Station.

It was fun trying to follow the figure 8 pattern on the blacktop.

The kids also enjoyed navigating the obstacle course which included a low ramp and side-winding turns.

Even the test was fun! Scouts were quizzed one at a time to see if they had learned their bicycle hand signals to indicate stopping, turning left and turning right.

The officers spoke to our group about safety rules, cycling equipment and Children learned that a helmet that fits well is the most important piece of equipment needed for cycling.  If you license your bicycle at the police department, it makes it easier for the police to return it to you if it is ever stolen.

We ended the event with a Turtle Race. That's where the last person who crosses the finish line is the winner. Super balancing skills are needed to win that race!

The Concord Police Department has a Facebook page where they share what they are doing in the community. They might be posting one or two of the photos for which parents gave permission to post.

Summertime Fishing Adventure at the Martinez Marina

Our group walking out to the pier.

Fishing in Martinez on a bright and breezy Saturday morning 8-15-2015 with the pack was an adventure to remember! This was the last scheduled outdoor activity for Pack 380 this summer. Thank you to Lori for bringing snacks to share and thanks to Scoutmaster Llata and James Banta and all the parents for making it a fun time for all.

Here fishie, fishie, fishie!
We all baited our fishing poles with anchovies or clams and laid in wait for a tug on the line.  Cub scouts Alex, Ryan, Jacob, Sam, James and Nikolas all did their best practicing how to bait and cast their fishing lines.

The littlest fisherman caught the biggest fish of all today.
Boy scouts (also former Pack 380 alums) Ryan and David; and girl scout, Bonnie were present. A cub scout's little sister caught the largest fish which caused quite a lot of excitement and cheering from the pack.

Look at this catch!!

WOW!

After a couple of proud fishing photos were taken, the fish was released.

Fishing is fun!
Alex and Ryan pulled up a couple of baby crabs which quickly dropped off the bait as soon as they  were pulled out of the water.
Staring intently at the boat creating a wake in the bay.
The weather felt much cooler over the water than the three digit temperature reading reported by the weatherman. It felt nice and breezy out on the pier.

Thank you to Lori for bringing snacks to share! Thanks to Scoutmaster Llata and James Banta for taking the lead and thanks to all the parents for making it a fun time for all.

I hope I catch a fish!
