Scouting for Food 2011

Scouting for Food is almost upon us!

In a previous post about Pack 380's visit to the County's food bank this year, we wrote about how important Scouting for Food is for the food bank.  Last year, Scouting for Food turned in about 165,000 pounds of food.  Way to go scouts!

This year we will be meeting on Saturday, November 12, at Woodside Elementary at 9am to distribute door hangers in the neighborhood around Woodside  Elementary.  Based on past years' experience, we should be able to cover the area in about two hours depending on the turn out of scouts and families.  Please make sure that the scouts wear their uniforms.

We will follow this up on Saturday, November 19, to pick up any food left curbside.  Again, we will meet at Woodside Elementary at 9am to do this collection.

In addition, during the week of November 14, Pack 380 will lead a food drive at Woodside Elementary. We will place a food bin near the school office to collect food donations that will also be delivered as part of Scouting for Food.  We would like to get a few scouts on at least two or three days during the week of November 14 to staff the food bin after school to encourage food donations.
